The provision of education as a service, whether or not it qualifies as charitable, is increasingly conducted in a competitive business market. Like any business, a school, college or university will have to juggle its relationships with students, parents, staff and with its own suppliers.
These relationships must all work within the legal structure and the legislative framework which governs the provision of the relevant educational services.
The Government has developed a number of new structures for state schools such as Trust Schools and Academies. Specialist educational journals are often established as academic charities to further specialisms.
