Position: Partner

Areas of practice:

Elizabeth is a Partner and jointly heads our Charities and Social Economy team. She is a leading specialist in charity property, ecclesiastical law and faith-based advisory work.

Elizabeth’s work includes but is not limited to:

  • Providing advice to charities, social enterprises and voluntary, community and faith organisations on a wide range of property matters.

  • Supporting disposals, development projects and the provision of strategic property advice.

  • Acting for Anglican and Roman Catholic dioceses, cathedrals, religious orders, independent churches, PCCs and other faith-based charities, including faith schools.

  • Advising on the property aspects of community led housing, including work for cohousing groups, community land trusts and cooperatives.

  • Supporting a broad range of community focused projects, from museums to town halls, with extensive experience advising on innovative and pioneering schemes.

  • Working with schools on the property aspects of conversion and on ongoing advice relating to academy status, in close collaboration with governing bodies and diocesan boards of education.

  • Advising on all property matters relating to railway premises, including acting for several major train operating companies on matters including station and depot leasing, acquisitions, disposals, station lettings and development projects.

Career:

Elizabeth qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and joined Wrigleys Solicitors LLP in 2004.

Elizabeth was promoted to Partner in 2009, becoming Head of our Railway Property Team.

In 2016, Elizabeth was appointed Head of the firm’s Charity Property Team.

In 2024, Elizabeth was appointed to her present role as Joint Head of our Charities and Social Economy Team.
