Fantastic benefits for organisations that join the Dementia Action Alliance

14 August 2015

The Dementia Action Alliance brings together organisations committed to transforming the lives of people with dementia and their carers.

Organisations whether large or small and across all industries are encouraged to get involved.

Wrigleys solicitor Charlotte Dyson lead the activities at Wrigleys that are organised to help raise awareness of dementia in England with the overall aim of improving lives of sufferers and carers.

Charlotte tells how being a member of the DAA has been a great experience for Wrigleys “Membership not only helps the work of the DAA, it has the great added benefit of bringing colleagues together through events such as Memory walks, a ‘Tour de Wrigleys’ cycle ride between our offices, Dementia awareness sessions and, of course, cake sales!

Wrigleys are part of the Yorkshire & Humber regional DAA, and also now members of the local Alliances of Sheffield DAA, Rotherham DAA and soon to be signing up to the Leeds DAA.

Charlotte explains how the Dementia Action Alliance works using one of the DAA’s analogies “Picture Local Dementia Action Alliances as a vehicle, with as many passengers on board.  The passengers are organisations who have committed to improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers. The destination is becoming a dementia friendly community, gaining national recognition for work achieved.”

If you would like more information on how your organisations can join an Action Alliance , please see the DAA’s website here.
