We are seeking an NQ Employment Solicitor to join our successful Employment team based in Leeds.

About The Role

The role is to work with one of the largest and most successful Charities teams outside London and work in a friendly collegiate atmosphere for a diverse range of clients.

The successful candidate will be advising principally charities and social enterprise (including schools and academies) and private clients (including those employing care providers) on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice to a wide range of clients
  • Work as part of a team to ensure financial targets are met
  • Have accountability for own financial targets and file management
  • Take ownership of workload and deliver excellent service to clients
  • Prepare and present presentations for seminars and breakfast briefings
  • Assist in driving the team forward through business development strategies
  • Ensure files are managed in compliance with office procedures, including Lexcel
  • Support other fee earners in the team and helping them manage their caseloads

Job Experience:

  • 0 - 4 years PQE in employment law. Prior experience in HR, litigation or similar roles is desirable
  • Good communication and numerical skills 
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work in a busy team
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach
  • Personable and professional outlook
  • Evidence of an understanding of and empathy with the voluntary sector
