AvMA’s Annual Clinical Negligence Conference

26 June 2017

It made for a busy weekend, but we have really enjoyed exhibiting our Court of Protection and Personal Injury Trust stand at the AvMA Clinical Negligence Conference 2017.

It has been great to spend a few days away from the office to spend time talking to Litigators, Barristers, Case Managers, Therapists and Clinicians about the work that each of us do. There never seems to be a shortage of “hot topics” to discuss, whether its on the discount rate, Roberts v Johnstone accommodation costs, effective case management or the best way to recover costs for Court of Protection Deputyship. We met new people, many regular contacts and enjoyed catching up with a few people that we have not seen for a wee while!

The social aspect of the conference should not be forgotten. The drinks receptions on Thursday and Friday nights gave a great opportunity to chat more and the Mid Conference Dinner was great fun for those of us who had the energy to go on into the early hours.

CoP blog

It was great to have so many people sign up for this Court of Protection blog and we hope you enjoy receiving regular updates on Court of Protection cases and developments, as well as occasional news on Personal Injury Trusts.

Hotel Chocolat Raffle

Congratulations go to Adrian Hawley of Partners in Costs who won the raffle for our delightful Hotel Chocolat hamper.

We are also glad to report that, having counted the votes from our coin box collection, Wrigleys will be donating £70 to Scope, £67 to The Spinal Injury Association and £88 to Headway. We are always happy to support the wonderful work done by these very deserving charities.
