Community-led housing for town and parish councils

Tuesday 15th October, 2019 |
Wrigleys Solicitors, 19 Cookridge Street, Leeds

Free to attend

We are seeing an increasing number of parish councils and town councils explore the possibility of using their surplus land for community-led housing.  It offers a meaningful way to improve lives in an area, putting council land into good use and providing homes for those who need them most.  It also allows a local council to retain control over new housing developments, instead of being subject to the designs and ideas of private developers or housing associations.

This seminar will explain what community-led housing is all about.  We will demystify the process, giving you some practical guidance on how to get started and directing you to the sources of funding available to support the development of new community-led homes.  We will also use local examples to demonstrate how effective community-led housing can be at engaging and revitalising a local community.
