Successful challenge to change of service for vulnerable adult

18 March 2014

A local authority sought to move a young man with profound disabilities from a successful day care placement.

Wrigleys Community Care team challenged the decision on the basis that it was unlawful, there having been no proper assessment and the change being entirely driven by financial considerations.

Further to a complaint, the council reversed its decision and agreed that the man could stay in his existing placement. It also agreed to pay the legal costs of the complaint.
