Our advice on governance and family constitutions

As family businesses evolve and become more complex, it may become necessary to put in place a more formal and transparent system of governance.

We work closely with family businesses to understand their shared purpose and values, and to advise on ownership, family and corporate governance. New structures and policies should set out the balance of interests between these various stakeholders.

A family constitution (or family charter) may assist to codify the family's attitudes towards ownership, and the rules, policies and structures of governance.
