Laura Moss is a partner in our charities and social economy team.

Laura advises a wide range of charities, establishing new entities, merging existing ones and advising on constitutional changes, trustee duties, vires issues, trustee disputes and more.

As well as core charity work, Laura has a particular interest in social business, working with organisations which have social values and purposes at the heart of their corporate structure.  This includes social enterprises, co-operatives, B Corps and employee-owned organisations.  Her interest in ESG extends to academia, having completed a Masters dissertation on B Corps, evaluating their effectiveness as a means for businesses to hardwire corporate responsibility into their governance and reporting structures.

Hayley is a managing associate in our charities and social economy team.

Hayley trained with Wrigleys and qualified in 2017. Hayley advises on all aspects of governance for charities and not-for-profit organisations. She has recent experience of advising clients on their interactions with the Charity Commission and Fundraising Regulator, and has advised several charities on the governance aspects of their relationships with overseas partners.

She delivers regular trustee training, and her particular expertise includes governance reviews, advising on trustee duties, charity incorporations and mergers, and conflicts of interest.

Hayley regularly gets involved with sector consultations, and in the last year has participated in the Charity Tax Group working party on VAT on private school fees and the Charity Law Association (CLA) working party on the new Code of Fundraising Practice. She is a member of the CLA Model Documents Standing Committee.
