Areas of practice:

Alacoque Marvin is an employment lawyer in our Charities and Social Economy team and head of our employment team, with a wealth of experience within the education sector.  

Alacoque advises on all aspects of employment law, including but not limited to:

  • policies and procedures
  • employment contracts
  • settlement agreements
  • the defence of tribunal claims
  • redundancy and restructure projects
  • employment aspects of incorporation
  • TUPE transfers, including collective consultation requirements
  • equality issues in the workplace, including where there are conflicting protected characteristics
  • working with charity governance colleagues on employment arrangements for corporate foundations

Alacoque also advises education sector clients on a range of legal issues including:

  • parental complaints
  • safeguarding
  • admissions and exclusions
  • information sharing
  • the defence of disability discrimination claims in the SEND tribunal 

Career:

Alacoque qualified as a solicitor in 2015. She retrained as a solicitor after a first career as a teacher and Faculty Leader in an outstanding secondary school and has considerable experience of the realities of managing staff and resources within the education and public sectors.
