Schools Breakfast Club: Preparing for GDPR in Schools - 14th November How to prepare your school for the forthcoming changes to data protection law

Tuesday 14th November, 2017 |
Radisson Blu, Leeds

FREE SEMINAR

Next year (25th May 2018) the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will replace the Data Protection Act 1998. Your  school will be directly affected by this new law. It will change the way you manage and disclose personal data in your school including students' data, personnel records, CCTV images and handwritten notes. GDPR introduces new provisions such as reporting data breaches and enhanced data subject rights. The penalty for non compliance will be as much as 20 million euros.

In this workshop we will look at the key requirements of the legislation using examples directly relevant to schools.  Topics include: The GDPR Principles including accountability, new definition of personal data, new rights of individuals incl. data portability and the right to erasure, subject sccess requests, Privacy Notices, images and video recordings etc.

Our expert speaker will not just take you through the law but will also provide practical advice which will kickstart your GDPR implementation.
