Solicitors at Wrigleys have been working with the renewable energy industry since the early 1990s. The work covers a broad range of technologies including wind, small scale hydro, solar, recovery of methane gas from landfill sites and anaerobic digestion.
We work with landowners, developers, government departments and the European Commission, the latter involving studies into financing and ownership of renewable energy. We have also worked with a number of community ownership schemes for renewable energy and on the financing of energy efficiency.
Property aspects of renewable energy are dealt with by our property unit. The charity and social economy unit advises organisations on the structuring of renewable energy companies, construction and operation and maintenance agreements for development and the financing of projects by way of loan and equity finance.
We have advised on the establishment of the Renewable Energy Investment Club, a business angel network for investment in renewable energy companies.
